Location: Upstate University Hospital 750 E Adams St, Syracuse, NY 13210System: SUNY Upstate Medical UniversityHours per Week: 40Pay Rate: $50 $55 per hour ## Position SummaryUpstate University Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for outpatient and acute care services. This role provides diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for individuals with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders. The SLP will evaluate patients, develop care plans, document clinical progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.Weekend Requirement: One weekend every other month ## Key Responsibilities * Perform comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans * Provide therapy in outpatient and acute care settings * Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge reports * Educate patients and families on goals and home exercises * Collaborate with physicians, nurses, OT/PT, and case management * Participate in care planning and promote recovery outcomes * Float to other hospital areas as needed ## Education & Qualifications * Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology * CCC-SLP Clinical Certification * Active New York State SLP license * Completion of clinical fellowship year * Minimum 2 years specialty experience; acute care hospital experience preferred * Experience in Level I trauma center preferred * EPIC charting experience preferred * IV Therapy experience required * Ability to read telemetry strips * Must pass pre-employment health clearance
