CompuCom Field Service Technician in Syracuse, New York

Our client has a brand new opportunity for a qualified Field Service Technician to provide onsite technical support in Syracuse, NY and surrounding areas. This role will support 7 store locations and requires consistent travel throughout the assigned route. (Route-Based: Watertown, Oswego, Clay, Cicero, Syracuse, Camillus, Auburn)

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that will troubleshoot, repair, and support IT equipment in the field. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality technical support in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide onsite IT support for desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers, thin clients, and network equipment

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues

  • Perform installations, upgrades, and break/fix support

  • Document all work, issues, and resolutions in ticketing systems

  • Work with remote support teams to resolve escalated issues

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide excellent service

  • Manage daily workload efficiently and complete tasks on time

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Minimum 1+ year of IT technical support or field technician experience

  • CompTIA A+ certification (required)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments

  • Experience with IT hardware, networking basics, and peripherals

  • Field service experience preferred

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Wage Range :

The rate for this position is between $18.00 - $23.00 per hour , unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
