Syracuse University Engineering and Computer Science Librarian in Syracuse, New York
The Engineering and Computer Science Librarian is a critical member of the Syracuse University Libraries' Subject Instruction Team, situated within the Department of Research and Scholarship. They ensure that the Libraries collections and instructional services support the academic and research needs of students, staff, and faculty in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) related academic programs and research centers. The Librarian provides essential services, including reference assistance, instruction, and collection development, and serves as the Libraries point of contact for ECS.
As a member of the Subject Instruction Team, the Librarian supports faculty and students through curriculum-based instruction, workshops, and programming, and fosters collaborative relationships with faculty to support instruction in research methods, identifying and assessing relevant source material, citation management, and other information literacy skills. The Librarian provides specialized instruction that addresses the unique needs of learners with varying skills, abilities, and learning styles. The Librarian continuously assesses instructional services to ensure they meet the evolving expectations of faculty, students, staff, and the University community.
