Actalent Cleanroom Technician in Syracuse, New York

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clean Room Technician for a 2nd Shift position in our pharmaceutical production facility. This role requires working Monday to Thursday from 1pm to 11:30pm with a shift premium provided. Initial training will occur during the 1st Shift.
Responsibilities
Operate assigned equipment according to established methods, including setup, operation, and cleaning of equipment and parts.
Ensure proper communication of any issues or problems immediately and complete operational documentation per SOP.
Tag, palletize, and place all returned and rejected items as needed.
Complete and review area production documentation ensuring accuracy and real-time recording.
Maintain open communication lines with management regarding production updates, deviations, and corrective measures.
Exchange work status information with management and co-workers.
Maintain a clean work environment by using appropriate cleaning solutions and schedules.
Clean and sanitize designated equipment/tools and glassware as per established methods and SOPs.
Handle raw materials and components according to prescribed methods, including procurement, weighing, and dispensing.
Maintain Aseptic Process Area sterile gowning qualifications.
Respond immediately to equipment alarms or malfunctions by communicating conditions to subject matter experts.
Assist co-workers in the production of finished products within time limits outlined in SOPs.
Receive and ship all plant and scrub uniforms for cleaning, and stock all garments and supplies for clean rooms and sterile core.
Assist with special projects as required or requested.
Promote a safe and harmonious work environment and maintain compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and all company policies.
Essential Skills
Basic mechanical skills related to equipment operation.
Experience working in a production environment, ideally in a clean room setting.
Skill in operating specialized equipment, such as filling, wash, and sanitizing equipment.
Knowledge of clean room procedures, preferred but not required.
Familiarity with GMP regulations, preferred but not required.
Proficiency in general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs.
Strong attention to detail and focus on quality, accuracy, sterility, and aseptic technique.
Advanced problem safety sensitivity and ability to recognize safety issues.
Ability to apply critical thinking and solve practical problems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external information and processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution; one or more years of previous work experience in a hospital or manufacturing environment or clean room filling preferred.
Skill in handling multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
Skill in time management for personal and team tasks.
Effective communication skills with coworkers and management.
Mathematical skills, including understanding measurements and conversions.
Flexibility in work hours.
Work Environment
The role is based in a clean room, lab, and production environment, requiring adherence to strict hygiene standards and the wearing of protective attire as per SOP. The facility operates under GMP regulations, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards are maintained. Employees must be able to follow all appropriate SOPs and safety procedures per company guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.40/hr.
