AVP, Information Technology Assistant Manager
The AVP, Information Technology Assistant Manager, under the direction of the VP, Information Technology Manager, assists in all aspects of managing the Information Technology Department including the supervision of the implementation and maintenance of the Bank’s computer and technology needs, assisting in the coaching, training and performance appraisal of IT team members, contributing to the development of programs, policies and procedures, assisting with all reporting functions and communicating with outside vendors.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in IT management, hands on experience with computer networks and software instillation, proficiency in working with office applications, knowledge of service desk tools and personnel management experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar field and knowledge of Financial Industry applications preferred.
This is an onsite position that requires reporting to our office in Solvay, NY.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervise the implementation and maintenance of the bank’s computing needs. Responsible and accountable for the smooth running of computer systems. Proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice and processes.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES:
Coach IT staff by training, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
Help drive department transformation which may include streamlining processes and documentation, implementing data analytics & continuous audit, improving indicators & performance metrics,
Provide regular reports of progress towards meeting project deliverables and on the progress of the projects
Develop and analyze systems that are to be used by the employees and the managers of the company
Look after the maintenance of the computer systems and make sure that all the departments are functioning properly
Collect necessary specifications for each department and make sure that their requirements are met
Look after the purchase of the software and hardware systems and plan proper budget and quotations for the systems
Provide training and necessary assistance for the employees involved in implementation and maintenance of the software systems
Manage information technology and computer systems
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
QUALIFICATIONS:
Should understand the specifications of the software to be installed in the computers and make necessary pre-installations
Ability to troubleshoot any kind of systems related problems and maintain security of the systems
Proficient working with the office applications
Have good knowledge of Financial industry applications and interfaces a plus
Knowledge on service desk tools, ITIL
Have good Troubleshooting skills
SKILLS:
Expertise in planning and maintaining enterprise hardware and software
Ability to accept challenges and tackle difficult situations and meet the expected goals
Focused on best practices and models that are used in the industry and can be helpful in meeting the expectations of the employees
Good project management skills and ability to pay attention towards the qualitative and quantitative aspects
Experienced in managing information systems projects
Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
Hands-on experience with computer networks, software installation
Ability to manage personnel
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
