Your Team & Role:
MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Credit Management to join its highly respected Front Office Credit Management function based in Sydney. This senior position offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing credit risk across a diverse portfolio that spans Consumer, Industrial, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Technology sectors. You will work closely with market-leading Relationship Managers and product partners, supporting clients as they access a wide range of sophisticated financial products and services.
Play a key role in the ongoing effective credit management of a diversified portfolio covering multiple high-profile industry sectors including Consumer, Industrial, Food & Beverage, Agriculture, Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Technology.
Collaborate with experienced Relationship Managers and product partners on complex transactions while contributing to strategic portfolio initiatives and process enhancements.

What you'll do:
As Vice President, Credit Management, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for overseeing the credit quality of a broad portfolio spanning several key industry sectors. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with Relationship Managers on structuring new deals; conducting deep sector research; preparing comprehensive credit submissions; reviewing legal documentation; monitoring customer credit profiles; assessing risk positions; ensuring covenant compliance; and supporting the Head of Credit Management on ad hoc projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the execution of complex transactions by taking ownership of due diligence processes, conducting thorough credit assessments, and guiding underwriting approval workflows.
Support portfolio management activities by assisting with limit allocation decisions, evaluating risk-adjusted returns, preparing detailed reports and reviews, and contributing to strategy materials.
Assist in the origination of new clients in alignment with local, regional, and global strategies while occasionally engaging in Leveraged and Acquisition Finance transactions.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with product partners as well as onshore and offshore coverage teams to ensure seamless delivery of client solutions.
Work collaboratively across Credit, Coverage, MID, KYC, Legal, Operations, and offshore teams to achieve efficient outcomes that adhere to governance standards.
Establish credibility and trust with risk partners by providing constructive challenge and ensuring all interactions are solution-oriented.
Engage directly with clients when appropriate to address their needs while supporting Relationship Managers in delivering outstanding service.
Develop client relationships through effective credit management coverage and deal execution including preparation and delivery of client presentations as required.
Review legal documentation such as commitment letters, facility agreements, common terms agreements, and security documents to ensure compliance with approved credit terms.
Ensure all credit and portfolio risks are identified, assessed, and managed according to internal frameworks while maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
What you bring:
To excel as Vice President, Credit Management your proven track record should reflect advanced technical skills in financial analysis alongside practical familiarity with legal documentation review processes.
Key experience and capabilities include:
5+ years’ demonstrated expertise in the Australian corporate landscape combined with a robust understanding of macroeconomic factors influencing industry sectors relevant to diversified industries.
Educational background featuring a Commerce/Business/Law degree from a leading university; MBA or CFA qualifications considered advantageous.
Proven ability to conduct independent research and analysis using sound judgement alongside meticulous attention to detail when evaluating complex financial data sets.
Advanced skills in financial modelling using Microsoft Excel coupled with proficiency in creating impactful PowerPoint presentations for internal or client-facing purposes.
Clear written and verbal communication abilities enabling you to prepare high-quality corporate or institutional level credit submissions covering financial analysis, debt structuring, and legal documentation review.
Experience utilising platforms such as Co-Pilot, AlphaSense or Capital IQ is highly regarded for sector research or transaction analysis purposes.
A passion for understanding how businesses operate within their respective sectors along with an analytical mindset geared towards problem-solving challenges creatively yet responsibly.
Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to present ideas effectively while fostering positive relationships across teams or directly with clients.
A collaborative approach underpinned by initiative-taking behaviour balanced by accountability for outcomes delivered within multi-stakeholder environments.
Capacity for managing competing priorities across simultaneous workstreams without compromising accuracy or timeliness of deliverables.
