Sky News Australia Studio Controller in Sydney, Australia

What's the role?

As a Studio Controller, you’ll pilot live broadcasts and pre-recorded segments across multiple programs and channels including Sky News, Sky News Weather and Fox Sports News and our digital platforms.

Reporting to the Studio Manager and working in a modern and dynamic control room environment, you’ll collaborate closely with your team and Producers to deliver high-quality news and hard-hitting entertainment content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Piloting programs in collaboration with Producers and other departments for broadcast and digital

  • Thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Learning and operating systems such as Mosart and ENPS

  • Operating equipment and software used for the production of programs

  • Delivering and receiving instructions in collaboration with crew and talent

  • Editing rundowns and ensure the correct commands inserted and ready for air

  • Working with and without supervision with the capability of following instructions but also making quick decisions.

Who are you?

You are passionate about television and either currently working in, or eager to build a career within, the broadcast industry. You understand how a live studio control room operates and the critical roles within it.

You’ll also bring:

  • A solid understanding of live control room operations

  • Experience with Mosart (preferred but not essential)

  • The ability to perform under pressure in a live broadcast environment

  • A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving broadcast technologies

  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster
