Job Description:
Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
Location is our Melbourne office, Australia. This is a field role (customer facing) with physical customer visits required each week and facilitating our suppliers with Arrow team & customer meetings when they visit Melbourne.
What you’ll be doing
Promote the latest electronics technologies into customer designs to maximize Arrow’s electronics component content into projects that benefit our customers and will create new business for Arrow.
Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering resources to facilitate solutions that bring value to customers. Do so by applying technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies.
Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Technical collaboration & research with sales, other Arrow depts. & Suppliers in support of customer designs. Champion return on engineering investment, design support priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sales.
Attend supplier training session in person and via conference calls.
Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up to date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives.
Identify key relationships amongst decision makers within customers.
Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and quarterly reviews.
Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Participate in Arrow initiatives through branch training and customer calls. Organize engineering customer events in Melbourne.
Confidence and ability to independently organize & present technical workshops with labs to audiences.
What we are looking for
• Degree in Electronic Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Driver's License required
• Experience and the ability to understand and self-train in all aspects of Electronics, particularly Microcontrollers, Analogue and Power Management.
• Good to have experience with at least 8-bit embedded micro-controller hardware development, debugging & tools.
• Previous experience in the electronics industry will be highly regarded and is desirable.
• Strong technical background and at least 3-4 years of electronics design experience
•Willingness to travel at times across ANZ for customer meetings or supplier training sessions. Supplier training may also at times be international.
• Enthusiasm in design application.
• Ability to build and maintain good relationships/network with established customers.
• We do have our own office to work from every day or in a hybrid “Working From Home” type of arrangement. Regular visits to customers are expected each week as this role is primarily customer facing.
