Overview

About the role:

We are on the hunt for our next Account Manager to join the Herd MSL Technology PR team in Sydney on a 12-month parental leave contract.

In this role, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of high-profile brands, delivering integrated PR programs that span consumer and corporate communications.

You’ll shape stories across technology, finance, telecommunications and innovation - from enterprise platforms and digital transformation to consumer-facing brands and fast-moving market moments. On any given day, you’ll be pitching and selling in stories to media, handling day-to-day customer relationships, assisting creative development and campaign execution, and collaborating with agency partners across APAC as part of integrated hub teams.

You’ll also assist major B2B and consumer events, work closely with senior executives and spokespeople to build profiles, develop thought-provoking long-form content across earned and owned channels, oversee video and social content production, and help drive campaigns end-to-end with senior team guidance - while contributing to the development of junior team members.

Qualifications

In terms of skills and experience, ideally, you’ll have:

  • 3-4 years of proven PR, communications or journalism experience

  • Strong media relations know-how and a great awareness of the Australian media landscape – being comfortable picking up the phone to journalists is a must!

  • A love for crafting and pitching relevant stories to a wide range of media, including B2B and/or technology focused outlets

  • Strong writing and copyediting skills, with bonus points for video production and/or social experience

  • Good knowledge of how to manage time and workload, prioritise and proactively direct up to internal stakeholders

  • Experience guiding junior team members, helping them keep to established time frames while assisting them to learn and grow

  • A team player attitude
