Jacobs Sr HSE Safety Supervisor (LSNA-PA) in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania
We share a common purpose - to make the world more connected and sustainable. And we’re excited about the innovative ways we can change the world. If you are also interested in turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good, then Jacobs is where you belong. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated HSE Manager to support Life Sciences North America (LSNA) project portfolio.
As part of our team, you will provide HSE support and leadership for a Life Sciences construction project in the Southeast Pennsylvania region, with the potential for future project assignments. You’ll serve as a trusted partner, working with project and construction management, as well as the Line of Business (LOB) Regional HSE Manager and HSE Director, to drive HSE excellence. You will also contribute to and/or develop pursuit strategies that support winning work while ensuring zero worker injuries and no negative impacts to our clients’ business continuity. You’ll be asked to support BeyondZero performance in alignment with the LOB vision and strategic plans, while providing overall leadership, management, and direction to assigned teams and clients.
We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, driving strategy and performance, and supporting continuous improvement. You’ll maintain open and effective communication with the Regional HSE Manager, project teams, peer LOB HSE team members, and Construction Management leadership to provide technical guidance, ensure alignment, and support consistent implementation of HSE processes and tools aligned with LOB HSE strategic plans and objectives.
By establishing these working relationships, you’ll provide visible support and leadership to all client and LOB stakeholders through interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance, and governance oversight to ensure alignment with and consistent execution of the Jacobs HSE program.
You will be responsible for leading and/or supporting incident notification, investigation, and reporting processes, as well as facilitating injury management and return to work activities. You’ll assist in developing project specific Jacobs HSE plans, reviewing subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables, and participating, as required, in operational readiness reviews and other forums critical to project success.
Travel anticipated for this role will be associated with fulfilling the responsibilities described above and will primarily support activities in the Northeast & Mid Atlantic region of the United States. The candidate’s home office location is anticipated to be Conshohocken, PA. Future project assignments may require additional travel within the U.S. and potentially within North America.
Senior Safety Supervisors within Jacobs LSNA LOB must successfully balance multiple demands, including support of field based HSE staff; providing leadership, direction, and vision to Project and Construction Managers and field teams; fostering a supportive yet directive environment to promote subcontractor success; and role modeling a leadership style that demonstrates inclusion and care for our craft workforce. Equally important is the ability to build rapport, partnerships, and a communication style that engenders confidence and trust with our clients. This role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills across a broad range of stakeholders, empathy, commitment, and dedication to delivering project outcomes that ensure workers go home safely every day. While the role includes significant administrative responsibilities, consistently modeling Jacobs’ BeyondZero culture requires visible field leadership—where the work happens—and strong relationship building with the teams delivering it.
If you’re up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you.
• A professional HSE Certification and/or degree in Environmental, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum of 5 years of construction HSE/EHS experience, including oversight and support of subcontractor safe work practices.
• Certifications: At least one required to advance in the hiring process (levels vary): OSHA 30 Hour Construction, OSHA 510, CHST, or CSP preferred
• Working knowledge in applicable regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agencies requirements
• Demonstrated experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and employee coaching.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local agencies.
• Experience supporting and implementing company and client safety program elements at the field level.
• Proven experience conducting safety assessments and performance evaluations with large numbers of site workers and contractors.
Ideally You’ll Have:
• Experience supporting construction projects, including regulated or mission critical environments.
• Experience collaborating with clients, design teams, and construction management to proactively integrate safety into project execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, supporting consistent safety culture across multi contractor project teams.
• Experience developing, implementing, reviewing, and maintaining safety training programs and documentation.
• Ability to review completed safety documentation and manage records for compliance and retention.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and with external clients and vendors.
• Strong self direction and decision making skills when operating independently in familiar environments.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, dynamic construction environment.
