NTG Swarthmore Junior Computer Technician (PT) in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
We are seeking a motivated Junior Computer Technician to focus on making technology NOT a problem for our customers. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills across a variety of IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, and network systems.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
Troubleshoot and resolve software problems related to operating systems such as Window &, macOS.
Manage computer hardware components, including installation, upgrades, and repairs
Assist with computer management tasks such as deploying updates via SCCM and managing group policies through GPO
Support network administration activities including configuring and maintaining LAN, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP settings, firewalls, and Meraki devices
Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure components like Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory accounts
Assist in the configuration and management of network security tools such as firewalls
Collaborate with senior technicians on projects involving network administration, server management, and system analysis
Communicate effectively with end-users to resolve issues promptly while providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
Prior experience or internship in IT support or desktop support roles is ideal
Prior experience troubleshooting computer systems is ideal
Basic understanding of IT support functions with familiarity in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, and Linux environments
Experience with computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN configurations, VPNs, firewalls, and Watchguard equipment
Exposure to help desk ticketing systems such as Connectwise is preferred
Strong analysis skills with the ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently and independently
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with end-users and team members
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
