Education Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent Required
Associate's Degree in related field Preferred
Experience Qualifications:
3 years of experience working in the computer industry or a related field Preferred
Experience working with multiple computer parts vendors and managing an inventory Preferred
Experience in computer, laptop, and printer repair Preferred
Skills Qualifications:
Knowledge of technology related parts and systems
Ability to define parts by visual observation
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask various projects
Demonstrated computer proficiency with inventory management systems
Knowledge of inventory control and distribution practice of technology related components
Ability to navigate and build routes based on current courier requests
Documentation of ticketing system
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement
Ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS)
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for transporting technology related devices and parts and assisting in the coordination of the repair of technology equipment. Responsible for documenting, assigning, resolving incidents and requests using the district ITSM tool.
Coordinate the pickup and delivery of technology-related equipment.
Plan the schedule for daily route(s) to ensure efficient pick up and delivery of technology-related equipment.
Assist in tracking documentation to follow the technology-related equipment through the repair cycle using the district provided ITSM tool.
Ensure the systems are returned to the correct staff member and the correct location.
Document the technology-related transactions when the repairs are complete using the district provided ITSM tool.
Coordinate the pickup and delivery of Assistive Technology equipment and document these transactions when complete using the district provided ITSM tool.
Comply with all applicable GCPS policies and procedures as well as all state and local traffic laws.
Assist other staff members in verifying repairs from vendors are made, stripping usable parts from laptops, printers, desktops, and other technology components for repair or delivery as assigned.
Adhere to all maintenance and service requirements for the courier vehicle as outlined by the GCPS Transportation department.
Escalate issues in a timely manner to the Customer Service and Support Manager - Central and School Support.
Comply with all applicable GCPS and Technology and Innovation manuals, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Participate in Enterprise Support Services Department team meetings and staff development.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, negotiate stairs, climb ladders, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear, manipulate tools and small items with hands, and lift and transport up to 50 pounds over short distances. The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The employee may be subjected to a wide range of ambient temperature and humidity conditions while working on equipment under varying conditions including overhead work and work in confined spaces. Potential hazards of this position include working with electricity, working with heat and noise producing machinery and equipment, working on elevated equipment using ladders or other lifting devices, and use of chemicals and solvents.
