Job Title: Panel Builder

Job Description

The Panel Builder assembles electrical and electronic systems and support structures, installs components and wiring, and ensures panels meet quality and performance standards. This role involves interpreting schematics and blueprints, performing precise wiring and assembly work, and collaborating with team members to maintain efficient and accurate production in a clean, modern environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems, control panels, and support structures according to schematics, diagrams, and work orders.

  • Install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings using tools such as riveters, bolts, soldering equipment, or micro-welding equipment.

  • Clean parts and assemblies using appropriate cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths to maintain quality and safety standards.

  • Drill or tap holes in specified locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments.

  • Position, align, and adjust workpieces and electrical parts to facilitate accurate wiring and assembly.

  • Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance, continuity, and proper operation, and accurately record test results.

  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.

  • Mark and tag components and assemblies so that stock inventory can be accurately tracked and identified.

  • Troubleshoot basic wiring and assembly issues to ensure panels function correctly and meet required standards.

  • Explain assembly procedures, wiring methods, and techniques to other workers to support training and knowledge sharing within the team.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in panel building or electrical assembly.

  • Proficiency in wiring control panels and electrical assemblies according to schematics and blueprints.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.

  • Skill in using hand and power tools such as drills, taps, riveters, and soldering or micro-welding equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail when positioning, aligning, and adjusting electrical components and workpieces.

  • Ability to inspect and test wiring installations and circuits for resistance, continuity, and correct operation.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving wiring and assembly issues.

  • Ability to accurately mark, tag, and document components and test results for inventory and quality records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working specifically on control panels or industrial electrical panels.

  • Familiarity with panel wiring best practices and electrical assembly standards.

  • Comfort working from work orders, reports, and written assembly instructions.

  • Ability to share knowledge and explain assembly procedures to colleagues.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage components, materials, and documentation effectively.

The facility supports detailed assembly and wiring work in a setting that emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and efficient workflow.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sussex, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
