Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and integrating electromechanical components and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools while working from detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications. You will perform precise electrical and mechanical assembly, contribute to continuous product and process improvements, and help ensure that all assemblies meet quality and workmanship standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts, sub-assemblies, and complete assemblies, ensuring all components are properly positioned, aligned, and securely fastened using appropriate hand and power tools.

  • Work from complex drawings, schematics, blueprints, routings, and specifications to perform accurate electrical and mechanical assembly.

  • Plan and lay out work, adapting standard procedures when required to meet design and quality requirements.

  • Cut, form, route, and connect wiring in accordance with specifications, using available space efficiently to achieve high-quality workmanship.

  • Perform electrical assembly tasks including control integration and application of basic electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Use a wide range of tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque tools, crimpers, soldering irons, hand drills, Dremel tools, and sanders to complete assembly work.

  • Inspect and verify the quality and accuracy of completed assemblies and sub-assemblies, identifying and correcting issues as needed.

  • Provide input on product and process improvements, including suggested corrections to drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

  • Maintain and update all work- or job-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Support and, when needed, guide assemblers of lower classification and helpers by assigning work, providing instruction, and checking completed work for adherence to standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Strong hands-on technical skills in electrical assembly processes, including control integration and application of basic electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex blueprints, schematics, drawings, routings, and specifications.

  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, torque tools, crimpers, soldering irons, hand drills, Dremel tools, and sanders.

  • Solid understanding of basic circuitry, electronic components, and their functions.

  • Ability to plan and lay out work and adjust standard procedures as needed to complete assignments accurately.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship in both electrical and mechanical assembly.

  • Ability to document work clearly and maintain accurate job-related records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic electronics coursework or formal schooling in electronics or electro-mechanical disciplines is preferred.

  • Experience with schematic, wiring, mechanical assembly, and electronic assembly in a production environment.

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback on product designs and manufacturing processes to support continuous improvement.

  • Comfort assigning tasks and providing guidance to less experienced assemblers and helpers when required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and suggest corrections to drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing or production environment focused on electronics and electro-mechanical assembly and test. Work involves reading and interpreting detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications at a workstation or assembly area. The environment is hands-on and detail-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to documented procedures during standard production hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sussex, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
