We are seeking a Technical Software Project Manager (PjM) to drive the execution of complex software and AI initiatives across multiple engineering teams. This role focuses on coordinating engineering activities, managing cross functional dependencies, and ensuring successful delivery of software platforms and AI driven capabilities.
This position requires strong technical understanding of software systems, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams, architects, and external development partners to drive projects from concept through production deployment.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Technical Project Leadership
• Lead execution of complex software and AI development projects spanning multiple engineering teams.
• Define project scope, milestones, technical deliverables, and execution timelines.
• Ensure alignment between architecture decisions, development activities, and project objectives.
Cross Functional Engineering Coordination
• Coordinate development activities across backend, frontend, DevOps, ML engineering, and data science teams.
• Manage technical dependencies between systems, platforms, and engineering teams.
• Work closely with technical leads and architects to ensure project execution aligns with system architecture and engineering standards.
External Partner and Vendor Management
• Coordinate delivery with external software development partners and vendors.
• Define clear project deliverables and ensure partner work aligns with technical requirements and development timelines.
• Track progress and ensure partner outputs meet expected quality and performance standards.
Agile Delivery and Execution Management
• Support Agile development processes including backlog planning, sprint coordination, and release planning.
• Track engineering progress using tools such as Jira or similar project management platforms.
• Ensure teams maintain focus on project milestones while supporting iterative development practices.
Risk, Dependency, and Issue Management
• Identify project risks, technical challenges, and cross team dependencies early in the development cycle.
• Develop mitigation plans and coordinate resolution across teams.
• Escalate critical issues to engineering leadership when necessary.
Project Visibility and Stakeholder Communication
• Provide clear visibility into project status, technical progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Develop project dashboards and executive updates for engineering and business leadership.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams, product stakeholders, and leadership.
Process Improvement and Delivery Efficiency
• Identify opportunities to improve project execution, engineering collaboration, and development workflows.
• Promote best practices in Agile delivery, technical project management, and cross team coordination.
• Help establish scalable project management processes for software and AI development initiatives.
Required Skills and Competency
• Bachelor’s with 8+ years, Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience managing complex software development projects involving multiple engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system architecture, and engineering workflows.
• Experience coordinating cross functional technical teams including software engineers, ML engineers, DevOps teams, and data scientists.
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies and engineering delivery frameworks.
• Experience managing external development partners or vendors delivering software components or platforms.
• Experience using project management and engineering tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%, for team meetings or training as needed.
