Summary Description:
Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Sr. Financial Analyst will assist with the preparation and development of financial reviews and forecasts which include the following: monthly financial reporting, bi-annual forecast, annual operating budget, and long-term strategic growth plans. This position will also consist of providing Ad Hoc financial analyses and data validation. This role will have a heavy emphasis on process optimization, along with documentation. The responsibilities of this role are varied, creating a very challenging, dynamic and rewarding work environment responsible for collecting and reviewing information regarding alcohol usage, production, costs, budgeting, tax reporting, accounts payable while simultaneously supporting the Plant as a finance resource and expertise.
Key Accountabilities:
The following are essential duties and responsibilities for this position:
Assist in preparation of monthly financial review, to include report creation, building presentation slides, identification of unusual items/single occurrence financials, and follow up question fulfillment
Identify opportunities for process improvements and research issues
Build dynamic Excel models and automate repetitive tasks
Assist with budgeting & forecasting including interpret, compile, and load data submissions from other departments utilizing spreadsheet and database applications
Perform data mining for ad-hoc analyses and communicate findings to business management across all functional teams
Participate in systems implementation, data validation, & process re-engineering activities
Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation
Create Purchase Orders for Viscount as needed
Follow up on Open Text issues with assigned plants and if needed escalate to one-up manager if still unresolved.
Report and follow up of past due POs or POs without GR/IR for assigned plants to ensure plants follow Refresco GRIR policy
Follow up on late paying POs and invoices
Prepare assigned J/E, accruals and reconciliations for month end
Review billings/invoices and follow up to resolve issues such as unjustified late charges, over-charging, currency payment errors, etc.
Assisting with month end close as needed
Track and reconcile alcohol delivery/receiving and follow up discrepancies until resolved
Complete all alcohol production and inventory trackers on timely fashion
Reconcile alcohol inventory, production and full goods
Prepare monthly Excise Tax report for all levels of government
Strives for high performance by leveraging technical skills effectively, emphasizes problem prevention, and develops ideas for improvement, documents new processes, demonstrates an orientation to detail by ensuring data integrity.
Skills/Qualifications:
Detail oriented with a strong foundation of organizational skills
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment
Ability to analyze information and draw conclusions and suggest proper course of action
Skilled at prioritizing conflicting demands as dictated by business and deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to deal with internal and external customers
Proficient in Excel; V-lookups, pivot tables
Experience with ERP, SAP systems and Open Text functionality
Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement in previous roles
Ability to multi-task, and work in an organized, detailed manner under limited time frames and tight deadlines
Knowledge of financial accounting systems, procedures and industry practices
Financial analysis skills; able to identify information needed to prepare and validate analysis; interprets and draws conclusions from financial information; extracts meaning from data by recognizing trends and patterns.
Education and Experience:
University Degree in Finance or Accounting required. CPA and/or Master’s Degree desired
2-5 years of prior experience in similar finance position in Manufacturing environment
Proven ability to work across organizations and other functional teams.
Ability to manage projects and resources – internal and external clients
Active exposure to cost savings development or initiatives
Working Conditions:
Physical – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods using a computer, as the job is administrative in nature.
Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
Work environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure. Attention must be concentrated in the face of numerous changing stimuli.
Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy or similar demands. Continuous requirement of decisive action.
