Job Title: Forklift Operator (Weekend) Job Description
We are seeking a skilled forklift operator who will be responsible for off-loading and on-loading goods using a propane sit-down counterbalance forklift. The role demands operating the forklift approximately 80% of the shift, ensuring quick yet safe handling of freight in tight quarters. The variety of freight requires an experienced operator adept at managing heavy and irregularly shaped loads. The individual will utilize paper shipping documents to ensure accurate loading and unloading, transitioning to complex digital shipping software soon. This position requires navigating tight corners in an open facility and handling shipments of varying sizes.
Responsibilities
Operate propane sit-down counterbalance forklift to load and unload goods.
Ensure accurate handling of freight using paper and digital shipping documents.
Safely maneuver forklift in tight quarters.
Manage shipments of various sizes and weights.
Adapt to contract extension based on internal hiring processes.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1-year experience operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift in an LTL environment.
Valid forklift certification.
Proficiency in computer usage.
Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
Reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-5 years of LTL experience.
Leadership experience.
Experience with Truckmate software.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Comfortable with shop talk.
Strong English communication skills.

Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced and operates 24 hours, contingent on truck arrivals and departures. Operators work in a bustling setting with more than 50 dock doors, handling diverse products from fridges to tires. The multicultural team is independent and proactive, consisting of approximately 50 operators per shift. The dress code requires steel-toed footwear, which can be provided or brought by the operator. The shift is from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with training on the day shift for four days.

The pay range for this position is $24.75 - $24.75/hr.
