Job Title: Cleanroom Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling electro-optical products and sub-assemblies in a cleanroom and open production environment. You will spend most of your time performing precise electrical and mechanical assembly, soldering, and inspection on small components, while also supporting packaging, documentation, and quality activities. The position requires flexibility to work both in a Class 1000 cleanroom and at standard assembly tables, following detailed written instructions and established procedures.
Responsibilities
Work in a Class 1000 cleanroom environment for a significant portion of the day while remaining flexible to perform assembly at standard workstations as needed.
Assemble printed circuit boards (PCB) and hardware components according to detailed assembly instructions and production processes.
Perform electrical and mechanical assembly on small products using soldering tools, crimpers, wire cutters, and other small hand tools.
Conduct soldering work and support quality checks related to solder joints and electrical connections.
Complete electro-optical sub-assemblies and final assemblies for production use, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Perform manual assembly and visual inspection of electro-optical assemblies on all products, using microscopes and other inspection tools as required.
Prepare and safely handle chemicals used in production processes, following all health and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Support packaging activities, including preparing assembled products and sub-assemblies for shipment or further processing.
Perform pre-tests and basic functional checks on assemblies as part of the production and quality process.
Use MS Office and the ERP system to document work progress, record production data, and support traceability requirements.
Assist with inspection and quality assurance throughout the assembly process, promptly reporting any issues or nonconformances.
Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental, and HR policies, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and legislation.
Complete routine tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Provide feedback and support to Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to help improve processes and resolve issues.
Collaborate closely with another assembler in a two-person team to meet daily production goals and support team and individual targets.
Participate in cross-training to support different areas and business requirements within the production environment.
Support and participate in Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Support Health and Safety initiatives by following safe work practices and contributing to a safe workplace.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to meet production and business needs.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience working in a cleanroom environment.
At least 1 year of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly on small products.
Practical understanding of soldering sufficient to perform or support quality checks.
Ability to use small hand tools such as crimpers, soldering tools, wire cutters, and similar equipment.
Good hand–eye coordination for precise work on small components and assemblies.
Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English accurately and consistently.
Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus, quality, and consistency.
Good computer skills, including the ability to use MS Office and work within an ERP system.
Ability to perform visual inspection, including using a microscope when required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Willingness to work both independently and as part of a small team to achieve production goals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical experience in electronics, electro-mechanical, or a related field.
Experience with PCB and hardware assembly in a production environment.
Hands-on soldering experience beyond basic understanding.
Ability to adapt to fluctuating work duties based on production workload.
Positive attitude with a desire to learn and take initiative.
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to help others across the production floor.
Flexibility to be cross-trained in multiple departments and processes.
Comfort working in a cleanroom environment with specific cleanliness and handling procedures.

Work Environment
You will work in a clean, quiet, and well-organized production environment that includes both a Class 1000 cleanroom and an open-concept production floor laid out in sections called cells. Work is typically performed in teams of two to accomplish daily goals, with strong emphasis on cooperation and mutual support. The role involves exposure to cleanroom conditions where noise and air pressure may be noticeable, and you will handle small components, chemicals, and precision tools. The culture is highly team-oriented with an 'everyone helps out' mindset. The dress code includes closed-toe shoes, with additional cleanroom attire such as gloves, mask, and jacket provided as needed. The standard shift runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime available based on business needs.
