Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Scientist I (Chemistry) for our Medical Supply and Instrumentation partner in Sunnyvale, CA.

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $31 and $32. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Description

The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of functionalized resins used in columns.

• Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize raw and functionalized resins for column production for HPLC

• Follow established procedures to perform standard polymer chemistry synthesis such as ATRP, grafting, polymerizations, etc.

• Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures

• Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc

• Ability to present findings and results to interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments: R&D, Process Development, product management, etc.

• Collaborate in PPI initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins

• Participate in 5S, JDI, and Safety initiatives

Requires a Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry.

• 0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Direct experience with polymer chemistry and analytical chemistry preferred

• Experience with chromatography software and H/UPLC preferred

• Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins

• Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles

• Ability to interpret chromatograms from HPLC/UPLC, GC-MS.

• Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

• Familiarity with chromatography systems, experience in analytical chemistry a plus

• Experience with generating and following quality control documents or procedures in compliance with quality standard ISO9001

Comments

Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM, 7AM-3:30PM or 6AM-2:30PM with half hour lunch for all

Pay Details: $31.00 to $32.00 per hour
