Meta PCB Layout Engineer, Wearables in Sunnyvale, California
Summary:
PCB Layout Engineers at Meta are responsible for designing, developing, and releasing printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for advanced hardware products. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and document control, you will deliver high-quality PCB designs that meet product requirements for performance, manufacturability, and reliability. You will contribute to the full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to production release, and help maintain best practices and standards in PCB design across Meta.

PCB Layout Engineer, Wearables Responsibilities:
Provide PCB board design for simple to moderately complex boards
Collaborate with vendors to select materials, stack-ups, and ensure compliance with impedance and DFX rulesets
Create and manage PCB documentation including fabrication and assembly packages
Participate in design reviews and release packages into PLM systems
Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues with support as needed
Demonstrate best practices in PCB design and process
Work effectively with cross-functional teams in device, infra, and research contexts
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field Or equivalent practical experience
2+ years of relevant experience in PCB design using industry-standard tools (such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, OrCAD, or similar)
Experience in schematic symbols and PCB footprints in ECAD libraries
Experience interpreting datasheets and schematics to generate netlists and design constraints
Knowledge of widely recognized electronic standards (IPC, JEDEC, IEEE, or similar)
Experience designing at least one type of PCB (e.g., HDI, Rigid, Rigid-Flex)
Experience troubleshooting basic manufacturing and assembly issues
Experience with structured document control and release processes (e.g., managing design files, revision history, and release documentation), whether through PLM systems or equivalent methods
Proven communication skills

5+ years of experience of PCB layout design using Cadence Allegro
Proficient in Flex circuit design
Experience in SiP design (rules and PCB implementation)
Experience with advanced board stack-ups (eg. ELIC,mSap)
Experience in Consumer Wearable product design lifecycle
Proven track record of designing and managing all aspects of printed board design used in high-volume consumer products
Public Compensation:
$118,000/year to $170,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
