Meta NPI Materials Program Manager in Sunnyvale, California
Summary:
The mission of the NPI Materials Program Management team is to drive material strategy and execution to support the robust product roadmap, balancing supply flexibility and cost exposure.Meta Reality Labs is seeking a dedicated NPI Materials Program Manager to support material strategy, managing material budget, driving material readiness, and mitigating material E&O throughout product life cycle. Leads pre-production material planning, forecasting, and supply readiness to enable new product development and supply qualification for all RL products from POC through DVT.As a NPI Material Program Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional partners internally and externally from planning, operations, procurements, quality, finance to Contract Manufacturers, shaping critical strategy/decisions and delivering results.We have an exciting roadmap and you are expected to bring in your supply chain knowledge to tackle ambiguity and complexity.

NPI Materials Program Manager Responsibilities:
Design and implement Material Drive strategy to manage the appropriate buffer and flexibility at component level, enabling quick response to the demand change
Supports overall NPI Build readiness & Critical To Business by collaborating with XFN Team (Technical Program Manager, Electrical Engineer, Global Supply Manager, Product Development, Product Cost Engineering, Operationss Program Managers) and CMs on material drive, component shortages, & driving supply solutions that mitigates risk and provides shortage recovery
Drive cross-functional alignment on Post Ramp Qualification priority and material allocation between sites and programs to optimize supply chain
Collaborates with Contract Manufacturers, Engineering, PCE, & GSM to assess sourcing opportunities (multiple source, alternate source, multiple flow/site, along with driving XFN Risk Buy approval and procurement kick off
Partner with HW Engineering and Contract Manufactures partners to develop a configuration plan that both qualifies supply and streamlines manufacturing setup
Track NPI spend against the Engineering Budget, and mitigates against Excess and Obsolescence from development builds
Run regular CTB reviews to drive closing material shortages with GSM, Planning, OPM and quality teams
Manage the day to day execution with external partners such as Contract Manufacturers and distributors and act as escalation for urgent and critical issues
Manager supply chain transition from engineering to volume production, tracks Bill of Materials release timeline, drives closure on component attribute details for Costed Bill Of Material with XFN, GSM, & Sustaining Materials Program Management, and coordinates all Golden Config requirements

5+ years of either material management, supply chain, or purchasing in a high-volume hardware industry
Understanding of Engineering component Matrices to drive qualification
Experience working in and managing high volume, consumer electronics products launches and delivery

Problem-solving foundation and ability to influence and drive decisions with data
Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills with understanding of Excel techniques. VBA, SQL, Tableau, or similar data visualization
Experience within complex supply chains, and prior OEM/ODM/JDM management experience
MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred
Cross-functional partnering experience
Track record of building solid relationships and driving alignment/collaboration with cross functional teams internally and externally
Proven experience in self-developing data models or partnering with IT teams to design and scale tools/systems for efficiency improvement
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Operations Engineering or equivalent experience
Problem-solving and analytical skills in handling complexity of multiple manufacturing sites
Public Compensation:
$121,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
