Actalent Mechanical Technician in Sunnyvale, California
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be involved in prototype assembly, electrical and mechanical testing, and working closely with design engineers. This role requires a proactive individual who can operate independently and propose process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Assemble prototypes and perform delicate assembly of devices following defined SOPs.
Conduct electrical assembly and testing using specialized equipment.
Perform mechanical assembly testing using calibrated measurement tools.
Calibrate, test, and flash prototype electronic devices.
Collaborate with design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback.
Assist the wider Concept organization with assembly work.
Conduct post-mortem activities after project completion and implement lessons learned in future projects.
Adapt to a daily-changing statement of work and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Write SOPs for fellow technicians, teaching and reviewing their work.
Operate independently with a willingness to propose and implement process improvements.
Skills:
Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3 years of assembly experience with smaller electronic devices such as laptops, phones, or VR equipment.
Experience in troubleshooting smaller electronic devices.
Familiarity with electronic testing using software tools and testing scripts in Python or C.
Experience with NX, SolidWorks, and 3D printing.
Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.
Familiarity with Python and Android Device Bridge (ADB).
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with ADB/Python scripting and the ability to use scripts to debug.
Experience in an assembly environment for consumer electronic devices.
Prototyping and fixture design experience.
Experience with 3-axis glue machine programming.
Knowledge of PCB schematics and soldering.
Work Environment:
The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability to a daily-changing statement of work. The role involves collaboration with a team of engineers and technicians, utilizing a variety of software tools and equipment. Dress code is casual, and candidates must be comfortable working independently and proposing improvements.

This is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
