Position Overview
The Customization Design Engineer develops and documents product customizations and customer-specific solutions to meet individual customer needs. The role evaluates customization inquiries, performs risk assessments, designs adaptations and customer-unique products, and produces required technical documentation. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the position supports implementation, quality, and continuous improvement within the Customization RFQ and Order processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate customization inquiries and assess feasibility of product adaptations,
Perform risk assessments and propose solutions in collaboration with Quote/Order and Customization Technicians,
Design product customizations and customer-unique products (CMD) based on prescriptions,
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including risk assessments and design control documents,
Lead the development of adaptations and customer-unique solutions through implementation,
Support customization technicians during build and execution as needed,
Identify, report, and act on quality, environmental, and safety deviations,
Contribute to PCI, (Permobil Continuous Improvements) team activities and continuous improvement of customization RFQ and Order processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
T echnical education from a college/university or equivalent,
Experience leading and driving improvement initiatives,
Knowledge of systems, processes, methods, and tools used in product development,
Practical workshop experience,
Good oral and written proficiency in Swedish and English,
Proficiency in MS Office,
Strong problem-solving skills with the creativity to propose effective adaptation solutions,
Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments in parallel, and deliver results on time.
