ENERSYS INC 3rd Shift - Shipping and Receiving Operator in Sumter, South Carolina

SUMMARY:

Verifies quantity, quality, labeling and addressing of products and items of merchandise ready for shipment, load/unload trucks, complete paperwork by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Inspect parts for defects from previous operations.

Employee must be able to satisfactorily perform all duties and responsibilities referenced in the work instructions for this position.

Employee will be required to achieve and maintain forklift certification.

Employee must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet customer requirements.

Inspect all trays prior to packaging.

Counts and examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications. Compares items packed with customers order and other identifying data.

Loads and unloads trucks as needed, completes all related paperwork and communicates with management any problems with damage to product, mistakes on P.O.s or Bill of ladings, or trucks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to and over 100 pounds.

Use 2 employees to manipulate / tip over or upender for trays over 200 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Employee must work safely in a small area with high forklift traffic.

It is the employees responsibility to wear the required Person Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
