Job Summary
Support Operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Contribute to delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
Support the development of technical solutions to problems within GKN Aerospace
Provide technical input of manufacturing process development and integration for production.
Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
Participate in positive, team relationships with internal co-workers
Continuously improve production processes by supporting Lean initiatives.
Support the implementation, execution and adherence to product configuration management processes through:
Preparing configuration documentations and maintaining the data quality, integrity and security of Configuration Management (CM) database.
Deploy CM standard and recommend enhancements/improvements to existing CM processes through deployment of Lean initiatives and global collaboration with other CM teams.
Schedule audits on CM database and analyse configuration issues. Implement appropriate resolutions to audit findings and configuration issues
Support the development of manufacturing process solutions to complex problems through:
Providing technical input for the implementation of production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes to a high level of process capability through utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
Supporting product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
Technical understanding in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification / background (university degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical). Additionally:
Graduate or equivalent with limited experience.
Acceptable to depend on others for instruction, guidance and direction.
Good communication skills and understanding of why they are important
Ability to apply basic knowledge and skills to own work
Identifies opportunities to improve performance
Understands situations by analysing them logically
Able to apply basic knowledge and skills to own work and only limited by experience
