Job Title: HVAC Sheet Metal Supervisor

Job Description

Supervise, coordinate, inspect, and perform the assembly, installation, and repair of HVAC sheet metal/duct components during the construction, tenant finish-out, or remodel of commercial buildings. Collaborate closely with an HVAC Superintendent and take on additional related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare material take-offs and layout appropriate systems.

  • Create isometric and schematic sketches from blueprints, specifications, submittals, and job orders.

  • Participate in job planning for work packages, site set-up, and construction schedules.

  • Recognize and eliminate construction and job site hazards to reduce safety incidents.

  • Organize, supervise, lead, and train crewmembers to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.

  • Accurately estimate hours and materials for scheduled jobs.

  • Submit crewmembers’ timesheets to payroll by the deadline.

  • Operate and supervise the operation of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, man-lifts, and power tools.

  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.

  • Coordinate placement and storage of materials, tools, and supplies to support the construction plan.

  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

  • Comply with and enforce all company and safety policies, procedures, and requirements.

  • Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings.

  • Attend operations meetings as required.

  • Train and direct the work of sheet metal Journeymen and Apprentices in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Collaborate with the HVAC Superintendent to train and coach crew members to maintain high work quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in HVAC systems and VAV.

  • Experience with sheet metal and duct installation.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Knowledge of duct detectors and installation sequencing.

  • Experience in supervising and leading a team.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment.

  • Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and presses.

  • Experience in soldering, welding, riveting, and other fastening methods.

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.

  • Capability to maintain equipment and perform necessary repairs and modifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70720.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Per diem when they travel. Company vehicle.
