Field Engineer | Real Field Ownership | Employee-Owned | $140–165K Total

Location: Alpharetta, GA or Sugar Land, TX

Travel: 75% (structured 3–4 day weeks)

If you’re the engineer who likes being where the action is… not behind a desk… this is your kind of role.

Our client is a highly respected engineering and automation firm with a strong reputation, steady project pipeline, and something most companies can’t offer: employee ownership . They’re adding a Field Engineer who wants technical ownership, client visibility, and the chance to solve real electrical and control system challenges in the field.

This is a seat where you’re trusted. Where your decisions matter. Where you’re the person people call when it has to work.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead on-site execution of electrical and control system projects

  • Support installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of industrial systems up to 480VAC

  • Troubleshoot real-world issues and drive solutions, not paperwork

  • Work directly with clients, contractors, and engineering teams

  • Direct field crews and keep projects moving safely and on schedule

  • Perform system walkdowns and field verification for accurate as-builts

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system validation

The Technical Environment

  • Industrial power and electrical systems (up to 480VAC)

  • Electrical drawings, single-lines, panels, and field wiring

  • NEC / NFPA standards

Nice to have:

  • PLC/HMI exposure (Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, iFIX, etc.)

  • AutoCAD redlines or field updates

  • Protection relays, historians, or industrial communications

Travel (Structured, Predictable)

  • 75% travel

  • Typically 3–4 day travel weeks

  • About one week per month working locally

  • Not constant chaos or last-minute schedules

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110–130K base

  • $30–40K additional (straight-time OT + bonus)

  • $140–165K+ total compensation

Plus:

  • Paid for every hour worked

  • ESOP – real ownership in the company

  • 401(k) match

  • Employee medical fully covered + strong family options

  • HSA company contribution

  • 4 weeks PTO , fully bankable year to year

Why Engineers Take This Role

  • You’re in the field solving real problems, not watching from the sidelines

  • High visibility with clients and leadership

  • Strong backlog and long-term stability

  • Employee-owned culture where people build careers, not just log hours

  • Clear path into commissioning leadership, project execution, or field management

What They’re Looking For

  • 3+ years supporting industrial electrical systems in the field

  • Ability to read, verify, and troubleshoot electrical designs and wiring

  • Comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments

  • Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience

If you like ownership, variety, and getting paid for the work you actually do… this is a role worth a look.
