Our client, a leading organization in the logistics and transportation industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specialist, Logistics to join their dynamic team. As a vital part of the logistics department, you will support daily operations, ensuring efficient order processing, routing, dispatching, and load monitoring from pickup through delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, aligning successfully with the company's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Job Title: Specialist, Logistics
Location: Suffolk, VA
Pay Range: $18.00
Shift: 11:30AM-7:00PM (must have open availability; operates 6 days per week with one day off)
What's the Job?
Maintain customer profile information and accurately enter loads from customer tenders into the Freight Optimizer system.
Update account managers on problem loads and communicate actions taken; keep receivers and customers informed about load status.
Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to verify timely arrivals and condition of loads.
Coordinate with drivers through check calls, ensuring on-time deliveries and validating load data for accurate accounting.
Investigate product overages, shortages, damages, and complete necessary documentation to resolve issues efficiently.
What's Needed?
At least 1 year of logistics experience in a fast-paced environment.
General knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics operations.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Open availability to work the specified shift schedule.
