As a Junior to Intermediate Geotechnical / Mine Waste Engineer, you will help shape the safe and sustainable management of mine waste facilities across Northern Ontario. From tailings storage systems to geotechnical investigations, this role places you at the forefront of solutions that protect communities and the environment. Based in Sudbury or North Bay , your work will directly influence critical mining infrastructure.
Your Impact
• Conduct geotechnical site investigations and support dam construction quality assurance fieldwork.
• Interpret site investigation and laboratory testing data to support engineering decisions.
• Carry out stability, seepage, and liquefaction analyses for mine waste facilities.
• Support the development and implementation of mine waste management plans.
• Monitor and evaluate performance of tailings and waste rock systems.
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, documentation, and design deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, environmental scientists, water resources engineers, and project managers.
• Provide technical support during planning, design, and construction phases.
The Skills That Set You Apart
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining Engineering, or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or mine waste management.
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles, tailings management, and dam engineering.
• Experience using geotechnical software such as GeoStudio.
• Eligibility for P.Eng. registration in Ontario.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to complete field rotations.
• Bonus: Master’s degree, tailings dam experience, familiarity with permitting, or project coordination experience.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 – $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 – $92,200
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $66,300 – $88,000
