V2X Tractor Trailer Driver in Subic, Philippines
Overview
This position is physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP
Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, the Tractor Trailer/Bus Driver operates a variety of heavy vehicles, including full-size buses, vans, and tractor-trailer combinations, to transport personnel, equipment, and cargo. This role ensures the safe and efficient movement of both passengers and/or logistics assets across various mission locations according to assigned schedules; using a minivan or full-size bus to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel; operates vehicle from individual or central loading area to certain points of embarkation including Clark and Manila; provides safe and comfortable transportation to and from one destination to another.
Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
Drives vans, minibuses or full-size buses to transport clients or company personnel to training locations, medical centers, and job sites all over Luzon.
Operates tractor-trailer units to move supplies, cargo, or mission-essential equipment between ports and distribution points in different parts of Luzon
Provides safe and comfortable transportation while adhering to all host-country and traffic regulations.
Secure freight using chains, binders or straps to prevent damage or shifting during transit
Plan efficient routes using GPS and local knowledge of Philippine road networks (i.e. bridge weight limits and height clearances)
Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections on motor vehicles, trailers, tractors and specialized equipment.
Maintains accurate logs of passengers, fuel usage, maintenance needs and cargo manifests for all trips; immediately report accidents or “near misses”.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
Must be a Filipino Citizen
Experience:
Must have a Professional Driver’s License with LTO codes D (Bus), C (Heavy Straight Truck) and CE (Articulated/Tractor Trailer)
Must have a valid NCII (Heavy Equipment-Truck Mounted Crane) and NCIII certification for Driving (Passenger Bus/Straight Truck) and NCIII Driving (Articulated Vehicle)
Five (5) years’ technical experience
Skills :
Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
Excellent situation awareness.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, deserted environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to change tires or secure cargo. Capacity for prolonged sitting during long haul missions across the AOR. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
