Eaton Corporation Field Application Engineer, Power Distribution in Subang Jaya, Malaysia

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer, Power Distribution, handling field application topic for Malaysia in Eaton’s electrical business under our Power distribution unit, based in Malaysia, Selangor.

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the job is to provide PD field application related activities either direct to customer or through partners work together with sales team to achieve customer satisfaction, exceed annual sales and growth targets.

A. Promote Eaton products and containerized solution assignments involving PDA systems, as requested by regional or local customer groups and consultants.

B. Develop attractive and technically sound Eaton solutions with competitive and accurate pricing, supporting Sales, Partners, Consultants, and End Users.

C. Provide technical solutions, proposal support, and tender documentation input to improve success in tenders, tender interviews, and clarification stages.

D. Prepare, review, and maintain integrated costing sheets for tenders, covering PDA systems and related solutions, ensuring: Technical and commercial alignment, Cost accuracy and completeness, Compliance with tender requirements and Consistency between technical scope and pricing

E. Build, maintain, and share technical knowledge within a shared library for Power Distribution Assembly products, including MV (AIS / GIS), RMU, Transformers, LV systems, and Busway.

F. Provide and consistently maintain a high level of technical service and support to customers and consultants, with the objective of achieving high customer satisfaction and improved hit rates.

G. Conduct product and solution sharing sessions (internally and externally), promoting Eaton brand, products, and solutions to key influencers and decision-makers.

H. Align with EA FAE strategic plans to continuously enhance PDA solution and tender-support capabilities across assigned regions.

I. Support Sales and key stakeholders throughout the tender bidding lifecycle, including: Compliance specification reviews, Technical clarifications , Costing validation and Liaison with factories for optimal technical and commercial offerings

J. Constantly provide feedback to factories on market trends, tender requirements, customer expectations, and competitive product gaps to support future R&D development.

K. Possess sound knowledge of containerized solutions involving PDA systems, mechanical cooling and ventilation systems, fire protection & sprinkler systems, and DCIM; such knowledge will be considered an advantage.

L. Demonstrate strong understanding of containerized system integration during the design stage, ensuring solutions are practical, compliant, and competitive.

M. Apply critical thinking and leverage experience to identify potential post-sales PDA issues during installation and commissioning; work closely with Service and Factory teams to resolve issues effectively.

N. Travel occasionallys to support PDA tenders, technical presentations, and customer engagements when required.

O. Foster and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in technical support, tendering effectiveness, and solution quality.

P. Create a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, major in engineering

10+ years related experience in power distribution product & marketing

Skills:

Fluent in written and spoken English

Takes initiative and instils confidence in peers and sales personnel

Significant Electrical & Mechanical Product/Services Knowledge

Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances

Significant experience utilizing Value Added Selling techniques

Ability to work well within a team

Knowledge of medium voltage, low voltage products and systems as well as control and electrical design

Strong Time Management Skills

Strong Presentation/Training and Communication Skills

Strong Interpersonal Skills

Strong organization and project management skills"
