About the role
The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership and direction to the site maintenance team, ensuring the reliable operation, repair, and installation of plant equipment and systems. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, supporting safe and efficient manufacturing operations, and driving continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will lead by example, develop strong technical teams, and collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, CI, and Safety to achieve site performance goals.
Key responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians to drive strong performance, skill development, and engagement
Plan, assign, and prioritize daily maintenance activities while ensuring appropriate coverage across shifts
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
Troubleshoot equipment and system issues; support root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective actions
Partner with Production, Engineering, CI teams, and external contractors on repairs, projects, and installations
Ensure accurate documentation of work orders, parts usage, and maintenance activity within the CMMS
Enforce Kerry LIFE Safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout, Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements
Promote a strong safety culture by addressing unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions related to safety, quality, and maintenance systems
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, maintenance processes, and cost efficiency
Support capital projects, new equipment installations, and process improvements
Track, analyze, and report key maintenance KPIs (e.g., downtime, PM compliance, work order completion)
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
2–5 years (often 4–10) in manufacturing, with leadership experience.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and industrial systems
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, GMP, and food safety systems.
Technical and analytical skills; experience with SAP and MS Office.
Experience in food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with GFSI standards (SQF, BRC, IFS, or FSSC 22000)
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and moving equipment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required
Flexibility to work off‑shifts, weekends, or respond to emergency maintenance needs
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $70,100 - $122,000 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
