JOB REQUIREMENTS: Door County Cooperative Hardware Division is seeking an experienced, motivated individual for a full-time, year-round assistant management position. Grow our sales by having fun in a hardware store and helping the customer have the best possible experience while they shop with us. Responsibilities Lead and optimize operational processes Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service Monitor buying trends and changing customer needs to ensure inventory and profitability goals are met Inventory controls, ordering, stocking, entering POs, organizing, and merchandising products, ensuring racks are fully stocked Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures Effectively address all customer and staff issues that may arise (complaints, grievances, etc.) Stay up-to-date with new products/services and propose innovative ideas to increase market share Requirements Advanced leadership and business orientation skillset Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and on a team Flexibility to work various shifts Experience with or willing to learn: cutting keys, filling propane tanks, driving forklifts Pay is based on experience, qualifications, proficiency for the role, and skills. Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers. Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed and that it functions as advertised. Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods. Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales. Assign employees to specific duties. Keep records of purchases, sales, and requisitions. Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise. Plan and prepare work schedules and keep records of employees\' work schedules and time cards. Review inventory and sales records to prepare reports for management and budget departments. Inventory stock and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level. Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the department. Examine products purchased for resale or received for storage to assess the condition of each product or item. Enforce safety, health, and security rules. Estimate consumer demand and determine the types and amounts of goods to be sold. Confer with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business.
