Job Summary
McKee Foods is seeking a Fabrication Mechanic to join our Facilities Maintenance team.
- Maintain, build and install systems and equipment
- Fitting and welding of various types of pipe material (sanitary tube, stainless pipe, black iron pipe)
- Drilling, tapping, sawing and grinding of various types of material
- Operate power hand tools and machine shop equipment
- Safely operate fork lift, scissor lift and boom lift
- Work overtime as needed
- Willingness to take calls on Emergency breakdowns
- Ability to work within a group or individually with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with other departments and shops within the company
- Willing to take any training that may be needed and/or required
- Perform all related duties
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a welding/fabrication course at a technical school or equivalent on the job training
- Read blueprints and symbols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting
- Must be able to work in high places on lifts and/or ladders
- Current Virginia drivers license
- History of excellent attendance
- Demonstrate welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, ARC)
- Fabrication and pipe fitting experience
- Must be able to obtain a forklift, scissor lift and boom lift license
- DMV Record must be obtained by the Safety Department
- Lift Truck vision screen must be completed by Employee Health Services and must meet Lift Truck standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years plumbing experience
- Sheet metal fabrication experience
- Machine shop experience
- Pipe fitting experience
