Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
SoftLite Windows & Doors, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to support our high-volume manufacturing operations in Streetsboro, Ohio.
This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Advanced Equipment Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and automated systems.
- Utilize schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to identify root causes of failures.
- Respond quickly to production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
- Identify early signs of equipment wear and proactively address potential failures.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure equipment repairs meet safety and operational standards.
- Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with production supervisors, engineers, and leadership to resolve equipment challenges.
Contribute ideas that enhance safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of:
- Industrial electrical systems
- PLC troubleshooting
- Pneumatic systems
- Mechanical systems and machine repair
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams
Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as with a team within a fast-paced production environment
Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Technical certification, trade school training, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical technology
- Experience working in automated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with PLC platforms
- Experience with CMMS maintenance systems
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
