Straton Industries IT Support Specialist (Part Time) in Stratford, Connecticut
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Specialist (Part Time) to provide onsite IT support in a manufacturing environment supporting military/defense customers. This role is responsible for day-to-day IT and Cyber Security operations (workstations, accounts, printers, connectivity, basic networking, collaboration tools, anti-virus, patching, vulnerability, and SOC/SIEM reports) while also helping implement and sustain compliance requirements. You will partner with Operations, IT, and virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to maintain secure, reliable systems that support production and protect sensitive company information where applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Help maintain compliance artifacts such as system and user inventories, training records, and other required evidence
Assist with vendor management and security reviews for IT tools/services to ensure alignment with program requirements.
Work closely with Operations to minimize downtime on the manufacturing floor while maintaining security requirements
Work closely with vCISO to ensure security requirements are implemented.
Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements (automation, standardization, hardware refresh, segmentation).
Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
5+ years of hands-on IT support experience (help desk, desktop support, or on-site IT), ideally in manufacturing or industrial environments
Demonstrated experience supporting Windows endpoints in an Active Directory environment (Windows 11; basic Group Policy concepts; configurations, user provisioning and permissions).
Practical troubleshooting experience with networking fundamentals, printers/peripherals, and business applications/collaboration tools.
Experience working with Microsoft 365; Entra and Intune specifically
Experience working within a cyber security regulated environment with strict change management requirements.
Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Ability to work on-site and safely in a production environment (PPE adherence, and awareness around machinery)
Microsoft certification(s)
Experience with anti-virus, patching, SIEM, backup, vulnerability scanning, MFA platforms
Basic firewall/VLAN segmentation concepts and secure remote access/VPN
Documenting changes and actions within a ticketing system
