JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary We\'re looking for a detail-driven Purchasing Agent with hands-on SAP experience to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating supplier terms, and working closely with plant management and production teams to ensure uninterrupted, cost-effective supply. The ideal candidate understands the pace and priorities of a manufacturing environment and thrives at the intersection of strategy, collaboration, and execution. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers to support production and operational needs Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and performance Utilize SAP to create and manage purchase orders, track inventory, and maintain accurate procurement data Partner closely with plant management, production, and operations teams to align purchasing with production schedules Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or shortages Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry standards Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations. Arrange the payment of duty and freight charges. Interview vendors and visit suppliers\' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices. Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices. Maintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. Research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier\'s reputation and history. Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
