We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mold Tooling Engineering Manager at our new Stoughton MA facility. Job Summary: Position is responsible for providing senior-level mold design, tooling, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) expertise and department leadership in support of medical cable assembly and connector products. The position supports both new product development and sustaining engineering activities, with specific focus on injection-molded connector components, TPU/TPE over-molded parts, and low-pressure molded interim shot tooling. Essential Functions: Lead and manage an internal tool shop with toolmakers and mold design engineers on staff. Lead DFM review on new product designs, identifying draft requirements, parting lines, undercuts, shut-offs, wall transitions, and tooling risks. Design and/or review injection molds for medical connector components, over-molded strain reliefs, and cable assemblies. Support tooling concepts including gating, venting, cooling, steel conditions, surface finishes, slides, lifters, and other mold actions. Partner with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, robust, and cost-effective. Interface with external domestic and offshore mold shops during tool design, build, debug, and qualification. Assist sustaining engineering teams with tooling-related issues, yield improvements, and design updates. Required Skills/Qualifications: 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking. Associates\' degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience). Working proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD software. Ability to conduct effective DFM and tooling feasibility reviews with engineering and suppliers. Strong background in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments. Experience working with global manufacturing partners. Desired Skills/Qualifications: Experience in medical connector and cable assembly mold design, tooling engineering, or toolmaking. Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience. Familiarity with medical validation environments (IQ/OQ/PQ awareness).
