Job Description Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, a HRIS Specialist will work as part of the HRIS team and will be responsible for writing, designing and/or modifying report queries, preparing and presenting report summaries, and dashboards and presentations related to HR and Compensation data. Overall goal is to provide accurate data in a timely manner, while safeguarding sensitive and confidential information. Duties of a HRIS Specialist may include but are not limited to the following: Writes and/or modifies report queries in PeopleSoft/Oracle upon request. Working with IT to build more insightful HR dashboards to provide trend and predictive analytics to support strategic initiatives and leadership planning. Utilizing advanced excel features - creates both summary and detailed reports and dashboards on the status of HR regulatory requirements including annual required education, professional credential expiration dates, annual physicals, performance programs, performance evaluations, permanent appointment packages, etc. Creates and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations for operational and strategic decision-making. Build and schedule standard and ad-hoc reports for distribution to HR partners and executives. Develops and presents department head and executive level presentations on the status of compliance items and/or other HR strategic and tactical initiatives. Collects information on needed changes and updates to employee data and in collaboration with HRIS Manager and other members of HRIS, makes any corrections needed to ensure data accuracy. Responds to questions related to reports and/or other questions in a timely manner. Coordinates with other HR units all correspondences to employees, supervisors, department heads regarding employees who are not compliant with key items, such as Annual Physical, Annual Require Educations, Flu shots, etc. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and standardize HR data reporting and analytics workflows. Lead or participate in Oracle implementation to improve HRIS current processes, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance data access. Document and refine process using HRIS playbook to support adoption of improved processes. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. At least 3 years of Human Resources experience to include HRIS software experience, complex data aggregation and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills including proficiency writing and modifying macros, pivot tables, look up tables, nested if statements, conditional data formatting, count and sumit statements, charts, graphs and other advanced features. Exceptional communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to communicate with clarity and brevity to large and varied audiences up to and including those at the executive level. Prior experience writing queries in an HRIS or comparable system. Please Note: Verification of degree (e.g., diploma or official transcript) is required for this role. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience writing advanced queries using functions, expressions, inner/outer joins, and other advanced features. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Power BI, Teams, SharePoint) and Jira to support reporting, project tracking, cross-functional collaboration and continuous process improvement initiatives. Familiarity with Press Ganey requirements. Familiarity with Joint Commission Requirements. Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements. Prior experience with PeopleSoft/Oracle HCM. Experience working for Higher Education, Public Employment, and in a diverse and unionized environment. Experience working in a healthcare environment. Anticipated Pay Range: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 / year TO BE PRORATED FOR PART TIME OPPORTUNITY. The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience.
