This is for a Degree level Apprenticeship only you must:
Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026)
Have the right to live and work in England (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme until September 2030).
Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English
Three A levels (or equivalent) at C (grade 4) or above in either Mathematics, IT, Physics, or an Engineering related subject, OR have completed a BTEC level 3 engineering qualification of 180 credits which must include further mathematics
Previous qualifications will be reviewed for funding eligibility and offers are subject to funding approval
This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little or no knowledge/experience of the occupation and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have a similar or higher-level qualification in the same or similar subject of the apprenticeship

What You'll Do: you'll work alongside experienced engineers on real lab automation projects
Learn hands-on mechanical engineering skills, including assembly, fitting, and precision work
Assist with building, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and robotic machinery
Support the manufacture and installation of bespoke automation equipment
Read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications
Develop problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills to start your engineering career
Optional but advantageous:
A strong interest in mechanical engineering, robotics, or automation
Curious, practical, and keen to learn how things work
Motivated, reliable, and proactive
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail and communication skills
Experience using tools, building kits, or mechanical projects
Participation in STEM clubs, robotics teams, or engineering competitions
Personal projects involving mechanics, design, or fabrication
Work experience or taster sessions in workshops or engineering environments
