Lab Technician (Lead)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves working in a laboratory setting, primarily testing water and wastewater samples. The position requires proficiency in basic wet chemistry techniques, including Bio Oxygen Samples, pH testing, Tepidity, odor samples, and settable solids. On a typical day, Lab Technicians conduct between 60-100 micro tests, with the possibility of handling over 150 samples during the busiest seasons.
Responsibilities
Perform basic wet chemistry bench sampling and tests, including Bio Oxygen Samples, pH testing, Tepidity, odor samples, and settable solids.
Conduct 60-100 micro tests per day, with increased volume during peak seasons.
Rotate weekly tasks such as Wet Chemistry, Basic Chemistry Analysis, Micro Room, and Floater duties.
Order laboratory supplies as needed.
Maintain a fast-paced workflow, adapting to a non-quiet, dynamic environment.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in laboratory practices and water testing.
Experience in wet chemistry, pH testing, and bench wet chemistry.
Knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and analytical chemistry.
Familiarity with quality assurance, QC, and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
0-2 years of experience in a related role.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekend flexibility. You may work alone in the lab on weekends and cover for colleagues during vacations. The lab culture is family-oriented and emphasizes growth, offering training opportunities led by experienced professionals. Rotating holidays are shared among all lab staff. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stockton, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
