Job Summary:
USA Rare Earth is seeking Logistics Support Specialist to support procurement operations by managing logistics execution, maintaining shipment visibility, coordinating with vendors and freight partners, and proactively addressing delivery risks. The Logistics Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring efficient coordination, tracking, and delivery of materials, equipment, and services across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments (LTL, FTL, air, ocean, courier).
· Arrange freight with carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders.
· Prepare and validate all required shipping and export documentation (BOL, packing lists, commercial invoices, ISF, customs forms).
· Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs clearance requirements, and HTS classification.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics vendors and carriers.
· Partner with the shipping team on shipment readiness, pickups, and delivery scheduling.
· Support onboarding of new logistics vendors and carriers.
· Identify opportunities to reduce freight cost, consolidate shipments, and improve logistics efficiency.
· Resolve shipment delays, damages, shortages, and customs issues, including coordinating recovery plans for urgent deliveries.
· Maintain accurate, audit‑ready documentation and compliance records.
· Track tariffs, duties, and related cost impacts as needed.
· Maintain logistics dashboards, tracking logs, and in‑transit inventory reports.
· Provide regular updates on late shipments, at‑risk deliveries, and inbound status.
· Support development of logistics KPIs (OTD, transit time, freight cost).
· Identify process gaps and contribute to standardizing workflows and documentation.
· Travel to facility locations as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
• Understanding of basic shipping documentation and freight terms (Incoterms, BOL, etc.).
• Familiarity with HTS codes, ISF filings, and import/export compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Self‑starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering best value and maintaining operational integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
• 2–5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or procurement support.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of education).
• Experience coordinating domestic and/or international shipments.
• Experience using ERP or purchasing systems (Microsoft Business Central, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and Excel/Smartsheet.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
Physical Demands
The work environment will be a mix of a typical office environment, a manufacturing floor and a construction site. Noise level: Normal office, manufacturing and construction noises.
