The City of Steubenville Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for a Street Maintenance Foreman in our Public Works Department.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., any combination of training and experience which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities required as listed below, United States citizen, Three (3) years of experience repairing and maintaining public thoroughfares including the operation of street and road maintenance equipment and vehicles, possession of a valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License Minimum Class B.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the types and kinds of equipment and tools used in the maintenance of public thoroughfares; Knowledge of the kind and working qualities of materials used to repair streets and alleys; Knowledge of snow removal and ice control procedures; Ability to supervise others; Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with crew members, city officials and the general public; Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Starting wage for this full-time, permanent position is $24.2027/hour. This is a Union position with benefits, the ability to earn overtime or paid time off, and the possibility for future advancement. This position is required to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
