Nightwing Facility Custodial Support Technician in Sterling, Virginia

Nightwing is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Support Team Technician to join a dynamic program. The Technician provides building porter support and works closely with the Facilities Maintenance Team to maintain a clean, safe, and functional facility.
Primary responsibilities are centered around the care and cleaning of the building. Under guidance and instruction, the technician will also support minor routine maintenance tasks, including exterior building and landscape duties, as required.
The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of general facilities skills, a strong understanding of safety practices, and the flexibility to perform both interior and exterior work. This role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI with POLY
Job Duties :
Performs a wide variety of tasks related to facilities custodial and maintenance services:
Provides cleaning and operational servicesto includeflooring care, furnitureand fixtures, trash binsand collection,restrooms,and pantry care;
Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.Followdirections forchemical cleaners and power equipmentuse toprevent damage;
Use hand trucks or other manual methods to transportheavy furniture, equipment, and supplies;
Use power equipment to buff and clean floors, tile, and grout;
Maintainand inventorysupply storage closetsto assurean organized and safeenvironment. Maintain equipment in a safe and operable condition;
Performs standard service functions associated with facility moves and relocations;
Performslitter and debris clean-up of the building exterior
Assistwithminor repairs androutinemaintenance tasks
Assistthefacilitiesteam with installation, improvement, maintenance,and repair operationsasrequired. Inspects finished work for quality and to ensure all work isaccomplishedin accordancewithsafety practices, procedures,codesand specifications
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Qualifications:
Two (2)years’ experienceperforminggeneral commercial building cleaning and maintenance;
Demonstrated experienceto use hand and general maintenance tools and equipment for cleaning or landscaping;
Ability to communicateacross a wide audience of facility tenants;
Work as part of ateamand individually to complete multiple and competing tasks along with daily maintenance requirements;
Must be able and willing tolift 25lbs.
Must be able to climb a ladder.
Mustpossessvalid state driver’s license
