Sterling Area Health Center LPN Licensed Practical Nurse in Sterling, Michigan

Qualifications: Current LPN license.  Possesses a thorough understanding of theory and practices in the areas of clinical care typically acquired through extensive practical experience in a professional environment.  Two years of recent experience in health care & BLS certified preferred.

Essential Functions:

General duties receiving patients and entering data into the computerized EHR system.  Direct patient care given within the outpatient medical office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes all documentation including forms, logs, etc. in a timely and complete manner.
  • Documents patient education and instruction using the EHR system.
  • Ensures that treatment rooms are stocked, maintain supplies and autoclaving as necessary.
  • Checks patients in and prepares patients for care delivered by the medical provider.
  • Obtains patient history, take vital signs, EKGs, PFT's, immunizations, assists with medical examinations, and performs laboratory work.

  • Demonstrates ability to function effectively in a fluid, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Communicates in writing and orally, in person and through electronic means with proficiency.
  • Demonstrates customer focused interpersonal skills to interact in an effective manner with patients, practitioners, and families with diverse options, values, and religious and cultural ideals.
  • Demonstrates time management, listening skills, problem solving, priority setting, and work organization.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking while managing clinical issues and utilizing assessment skills protocols. Excellent assessment and triage skills. 
  • Demonstrates ability to work autonomously and be directly accountable for practice.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of clinical requirements, lab, and nursing competencies, evidenced based best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Problem solving, team building, and training skills required.
