How does it feel to work on a team driven to make a big impact? Empowering. Our Combat Mission Systems business is hiring a Prototyping Integration Support Engineer to serve as a liaison between design engineering and the prototype shop.

The Prototyping Integration Support Engineer drives engineering resolutions to build issues requiring technical resolution. This individual will lead the root cause analysis and corrective action, and track all engineering related build issues to resolution. The Prototype Integration Support Engineer has the authority to make decisions and implement corrective actions for issues of part fit identified during the fabrication and assembly of products such as Combat and Amphibious Vehicles and Weapon Systems. This role is an integral within the Prototype Network as well as a key member of the broader program execution team comprised of members from the other groups such as manufacturing, program management, production control, and supply chain management.
This role will be responsible for technical issue resolution to support the timely execution of the multiple prototype assembly projects.
You will also:
Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
Support product development.
Work with production support to create Problem Reports detailing engineering related issues with items in production, liaising with Integrated Program Team (IPT) to develop a solution.
Maintain the variance control process for production related variations from the technical data package (TDP). This includes obtaining internal and customer approval for subject variances.
Develop timely, complex and non-complex solutions to problems and coordinate effective fixes through variances, standard and non-standard repairs and configuration notes.
Assist in assigned special projects and/or process improvement teams to improve work effectiveness and relationships between design and production (e.g.: improve Configuration Management of TDP and Re-man Drawings, develop and implement design change work flow processes within configuration management and engineering data management systems).
Recommend design enhancements for the system, subsystem or component design to the design engineering group.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives, policies, and rules.
This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to quickly evaluate program needs, identify capabilities and technologies needed to support and develop complex integrated and detailed manufacturing and sourcing plans
Ability to effectively lead manufacturing performance including requiring, developing, and implementing corrective action plans
Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relations and conflicts
Ability to use objectivity, creativity, and analytical skills to solve problems
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in managing challenging programs on Department of War Programs
Mechanical Engineering degree and 6 years experience
Experience managing manufacturing cost and schedule
Experience in competitive proposal evaluations and negotiations
Experience effectively directing personnel from various functional departments
Experience or familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
Experience in developing and communicating program requirements to manufacturing sites/organizations including scopes of work, performance or critical item development, schedules, and Contract Requirements
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate
Ability to plan strategically
Ability to manage projects, and develop budgets
Ability to effectively represent the Company
Excellent communication skills
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914
