Mechanical Systems Engineer - Vehicle Fluid & Distributed Systems Sterling Heights, MI $49.99-$53.56/Hour Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. Responsibilities: * Design and develop fluid and distributed systems including fuel, fire suppression, camera cleaning, LRU cooling, hydraulics, and pneumatics. * Integrate mechanical subsystems into vehicle platforms to meet performance, safety, environmental, ballistic, and mine blast requirements. * Perform mechanical design and analysis of components, mechanisms, mounting systems, and shock attenuation solutions. * Apply mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles to complex brackets and structural mounting provisions. * Develop fluid system functional architectures, schematics, and analytical models. * Perform tolerance stack-ups, drawing/model mark-ups, and generate source data for engineering changes. * Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, troubleshooting, and corrective action implementation. * Support prototype, production, and sustainment vehicle programs, including fit checks and integration reviews. * Author material requests, shop work requests, and technical reports; track hardware fabrication and delivery. * Direct and oversee CAD model and drawing development. * Present design concepts, program status, and technical risks to leadership and customers. * Support cross-functional engineering collaboration across multiple vehicle programs. * Perform other related engineering duties as required. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (Electrical Engineering considered with significant mechanical systems experience) * Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) * 5-7 years of experience in mechanical systems design within defense, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar industries * Strong background in mechanical engineering fundamentals * Experience with fluid system design, functional architecture, schematics, and troubleshooting * Experience supporting prototype and production builds * Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation * Proficiency with NX and/or Creo * Experience with Teamcenter and/or Vis Mockup preferred * Experience supporting ground combat vehicles strongly preferred * Ability to work in and around military vehicles (climb on/off, confined spaces) * Ability to travel up to 20% to military installations or partner facilities * Ability to support occasional evenings/weekends as program needs require Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
