What you'll do...
Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.
Manage and direct statistical process control activities
Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis
Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently
Establish tolerance limits and facilitate appropriate corrective actions
Establish and monitor quality target levels for each build
Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations
Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods
Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements
Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers
Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility
Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct metallurgical evaluations for functional trials and launch of new product lines
Execute metallurgical failure investigations using metallurgical equipment (microscopes, hardness testers, metallographic specimen preparation, etc.)
Collaborate with production and engineering on process improvements relating to heat treat and welding
Assist with and address metallurgical concerns related to IQ and process issues
Collaborate with suppliers on process improvements
Have knowledge of industry metallurgical tests (metallography, tensile testing, hardness testing, etc.)
You'll have...
5–8 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing quality engineering
Experience supporting high-volume production environments
Proven experience responding to customer quality issues and production line disruptions
Ability to lead containments
Demonstrated expertise leading 8D problem solving
Strong capability with 3-Legged 5-Why / root cause analysis
Experience using AIAG Core Tools:
PFMEA
Control Plans
MSA
SPC
PPAP
Experience working in machining, gear manufacturing, heat treat, or drivetrain components (axles, gears, shafts, housings)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience with dimensional measurement systems (CMM, gauges, measurement systems)
Understanding of IATF 16949 requirements
Experience conducting or supporting layered process audits or internal audits
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing plant environment
Comfortable being on the production floor daily
Strong communication skills with production, engineering, and leadership

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Experience with gear cutting, spline rolling, or axle assembly
Experience with heat treat metallurgy issues
Knowledge of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) issues related to driveline components
Experience with Minitab or statistical software
Experience facilitating cross-functional problem-solving teams
Experience training production teams in quality tools
Experience conducting supplier corrective actions or supplier audits

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
