RE-1 Valley School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered Elementary Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who believes in building strong foundational skills, fostering a positive classroom culture, and partnering with families to support student success.

SALARY RANGE & CATEGORY: $44,000 - $65,853 on Teacher Salary Schedule

 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

 

WORK CALENDAR: 167 days

 

*FTE: 1.0 *

Full-time with benefits; 4-day school week (Tuesday - Friday)

 

Position Summary

The Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that promotes academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and foundational skill development. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the whole child.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Instruction & Curriculum

• Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned to Colorado Academic Standards
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Implement evidence-based early literacy and numeracy practices
• Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
• Integrate technology appropriately to enhance learning

Classroom Environment

• Establish a positive, structured classroom environment
• Promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress

Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists, and support staff
• Participate in MTSS, IEP, and 504 meetings as appropriate
• Engage in professional learning communities (PLCs)

Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain current licensure
• Participate in professional development
• Follow district policies and procedures
• Support district and building improvement goals

In conscientiously conducting his or her affairs, the employee shall exemplify the highest standards of professional commitment.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education preferred and will be given first consideration
• Currently hold a Colorado teaching license with the correct endorsement or have licensure application in process ( Additional coursework required for eligibility toward a Colorado Teacher License is required or must be completed within an agreed-upon timeframe)
• Currently hold a Colorado Substitute Teaching License if Teacher License is not completed
• Experience teaching upper elementary grades
• Experience with data analysis and MTSS frameworks
• Knowledge of structured literacy and math intervention strategies
• Bilingual skills preferred

• Knowledge of upper elementary curriculum and academic standards
• Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills
• Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction
• Ability to differentiate for varied academic levels
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to foster independence and accountability in students

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Classroom setting
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Frequent walking, bending, and classroom movement
• Occasional evening events (parent conferences, school activities)

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and the Colorado Teacher Evaluation System.

Caliche Elementary and Caliche Jr/Sr High School, located outside Iliff, CO, are a part of RE-1 Valley School District. The District Administration Center is located in Sterling, CO (Logan County) in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River. Having the largest population, approximately 13,900, in Logan County and much of the surrounding area, Sterling offers shopping, restaurants, numerous parks, a recreation center, access to medical care and is located near North Sterling Reservoir. Sterling is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Denver International Airport and 2 hours from Denver and the Front Range (I-25 corridor).
