Portfolio Manager, Technology Performance & Resource (15-Month Contract)
Locations: Mississauga, ON or Stellarton, NS
Sobeys is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager, Technology Performance & Resource to help drive enterprise technology delivery through strong portfolio governance, capacity planning, and data-driven decision-making.
In this role, you’ll provide executive visibility into technology demand, capacity, and performance across CTAO teams—ensuring initiatives are realistically planned, resourced, sequenced, and delivered. You’ll also serve as the Planview platform custodian , enabling consistent, high-quality portfolio data that leaders can trust.
What You’ll Do
Portfolio & Capacity Management
Own and maintain the enterprise technology capacity model , providing visibility into supply, demand, constraints, and delivery risk.
Assess feasibility of new initiatives by evaluating timing, resource needs, portfolio impact, and organizational capacity.
Ensure approved initiatives are realistically staffed, sequenced, and aligned with delivery commitments and operational constraints.
Integrate lessons learned and performance outcomes into future planning cycles.
Portfolio Performance & Executive Reporting
Lead portfolio performance reporting, including KPIs, milestones, risks, and R/Y/G status , delivering actionable insights for executives and governance forums.
Conduct scenario modelling and “what-if” analyses to support trade-offs such as deferrals, acceleration, reprioritization, or capacity shifts.
Identify systemic bottlenecks (e.g., testing, architecture, SMEs) and escalate cross-team constraints impacting delivery.
Planview Platform Ownership
Serve as the Planview Platform Custodian , accountable for:
Data standards and governance
Workflow configuration and reporting
User adoption and data quality
Consistent portfolio insights across business and technology teams
Act as a trusted subject-matter expert, enabling teams to use Planview effectively and consistently.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner closely with Resource Managers, Solution Leaders, Project Managers, Finance, and Governance teams to align strategy, capacity, and execution.
Influence without authority, using data and systems thinking to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
Demonstrate disciplined, fact-based judgment and continuous improvement of portfolio processes and standards.

What You Bring
Experience leading and developing teams , supporting people through change and driving accountability.
Strong background in enterprise portfolio management across business and technology initiatives.
Hands-on experience with capacity planning and resource management , balancing supply, demand, and timing.
Advanced expertise in Planview , including configuration, reporting, workflows, data structures, and governance.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous or early-stage ideas into structured, actionable plans .
Strong analytical skills, including scenario modelling and “what-if” analysis .
Experience producing clear, executive-level portfolio reporting.
Solid understanding of delivery lifecycles (SDLC, PLC, business change) and how they impact sequencing and capacity.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders using data.
